Now is the time to go to events related to what you want to do and meet real people. Take a class. Join a professional group or Meetups. Search for Eventbrite city events, design events or workshops, anything related to what you are interested: art, design, VR, retail, UX, marketing, advertising, food, etc. There are countless opportunities for you to connect you with new people, learn something new, and add a new skill or two to your resume.
But don’t be a silent bystander. Introduce yourself and talk to people to find out why they are attending and how it relates to what they do. If they are interesting and nice ask for their info or email and connect on LI. Then see who they know and if you have any shared connections.
