Some key concepts as excerpts from Face to Face by Brian Grazer…

There are two things that are absolutely crucial for me to see a project through successfully – a clear and compelling vision that I believe in and the ability to form strong connections with others.

What is at the center of the story – a concept, character, theme, mission, or deep personal passion? What thoughts or feelings do I want the story to stir up for my audience? Why would they be drawn in by it? But perhaps the most important questions are: Why does it exist? And Why does it matter to me personally?

People have to trust that I am authentic and genuinely believe in the project.

Leadership isn’t always about strength, position, or circumstances. Being a great leader starts with looking people in the eye. If you can’t connect with people, you can convince people of your beliefs.

Eye contact matters.

When people look you in the eyes, they almost instantly decide whether they want to hear what you have to say, whether they trust you to be their leader, or whether they want to know you better.

Begin with an inarguable, universal theme, something that is essential to the human experience.

A universal theme increases the opportunity for the viewer to connect and relate to the narrative and is, therefore, the central ingredient in creating a transcendent event that brings the viewer to ta heightened emotional state.

Eye contact is key to being present. When I am engaged with my eyes, my mind is less likely to wander.

Disrupting your comfort zone can lead to the most unexpectedly beautiful connections in our lives.
